The results show that the American public is becoming less supportive of Israel's conflict in Gaza.
The survey was completed prior to the endorsement by the UN Security Council on Monday of a resolution formally seeking an immediate ceasefire for Ramadan, which concludes in a fortnight.
More than a million Palestinians who have been displaced have sought refuge in the city. The United Nations has repeatedly cautioned that an Israeli invasion there would have catastrophic consequences.
The proportion of Republicans who expressed support for Israel's actions in Gaza decreased from 71% in November to 64% in March, whereas the percentage of Democrats who held the same stance diminished from 36% to 18%.
Approximately 72% of the survey participants assert that they regularly keep up with the news concerning the Gaza War, and around one-third of them emphasize their utmost attention to the situation at hand.
The conflict is also exerting an influence on the public's endorsement of Mr. Biden, who is currently campaigning for reelection in November.
Among the five matters evaluated in the Gallup survey, his management of the situation in the Middle East has attained the least amount of approval, which stands at 27%.
The statement states that the Democrats' extensive opposition to the actions taken by Israel highlights the complexity of the issue for President Joe Biden among his most loyal supporters. However, there is no evidence to suggest that this issue has affected the public's perception of the President, whose approval rating currently stands at 40%, an increase from 37% in October.
